Beards of Hollywood: Podcast Edition

Howdy beard fans! For the last few months I have been driving 2 hours every Tuesday and Thursday so that I can sit in a class room and learn about stuff. I figured out that listening to podcasts really makes the time much, much better. If you know me, you know that I rarely trust the spoken word of anyone without a beard, so here are some good movie podcasts with bearded folk behind the microphones. Trust 'em, I do!

1. SCENE UNSEEN: I just came across this one about a month ago, but it quickly moved up to the top of my list. It's hosted by two guys named Chris and Jimmy. Each episode one of them sees a movie and one of them doesn't. They review all kinds of movies, and they have a great section where they go through their dvd picks of the week. Chris Browne sent me this picture to use for this post, check out his awesome beard, and definitely check out the podcast!

2. SMODCAST: I think I was about 11 years old the first time I saw Clerks, and ever since then I have been a huge fan of Kevin Smith. Smodcast is Kevin Smith and his long time friend and producer Scott Mosier talking about all sorts of really random shit for about an hour a week. If you are a fan of Smith's work, definitely check this one out. Plus, I have never once seen a picture of Kevin without a beard!!!

3. THE GOOD, THE BAD, THE JOBLO MOVIE PODCAST: JoBlo.com is one of my favorite movie news websites. Their podcast is great, just like the site, but I will post more about JoBlo later on, along with pictures. Check out their podcast though, cause it definitely entertaining and covers a lot of good topics every week.

Those are my movie podcast picks for right now. If you have any favorites, let us know in the comments!

Beards of Thailand

I watched the Thai movie Ong Bak 2 last night, and figured it would make a fine addition to the Beards of Hollywood blog. You're right, Thailand is no where near Hollywood, but there are some awesome beards in this movie none the less. I also thought it was fitting, because the movie is being released on dvd in Spain next month and later this year we will be seeing it in limited release theaters, October of 2009. It's a good movie too! If have liked anything that Tony Jaa has done in the past, like Ong Bak 1, or The Protector, you will like this one. Tony Jaa grew his hair out in this movie, but he still didn't grow a beard, which is a shame. A bearded warrior as powerful as Tony Jaa would be an awesome warrior.

This guy had an awesome beard, but it was mostly his wicked cool curly mustache that was good in this movie.

Now look at that! This dude not only has a huge white beard, but his crazy long white hair happens to go down just as far as his beard. Not only that, but he has some pure white eyes to match the hair and beard. He is a pretty creepy looking guy, but damn that is a sweet beard.
